Spurrier Says Freshman QB Lagway Needs to Play

Steve Spurrier chimed in on the quarterback situation down in Gainesville earlier today on the Another Dooley Noted Podcast.
The former Florida head coach endorsed freshman DJ Lagway.
“I don’t know who’s going to start or whatever, but (Lagway) needs to play,” he said.
Graham Mertz was one of the best and most underrated quarterbacks in the entire country a season ago. But a horrible first game and concussion versus Miami has opened the door for Lagway to get more playing time. Lagway took full advantage of the opportunity throwing for over 450 yards and three scores versus Samford.
Florida plays Texas A&M at home this Saturday in what is quickly becoming a must win game for Billy Napier and the Gators.
