Saints free agent OL Lucas Patrick visiting Seahawks

By Ross Jackson
More and more of the 2024 New Orleans Saints roster is drawing interest from former Saints staffers with the Seattle Seahawks.
Former wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling and cornerback Shemar Jean-Charles have already signed with Seattle. Their moves, in turn, follow former offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak and several other assistants, who previously made the leap to the Pacific Northwest earlier this offseason.
The latest names emerged on Monday after newly re-signed tight end Juwan Johnson spoke with New Orleans media. During the conversation, he revealed that the Seahawks were a potential landing spot before he ultimately chose to extend his deal and stay with the Saints. Now, former Saints offensive lineman Lucas Patrick looks to be next on the list.
Per KPRC”s Aaron Wilson, Seattle hosted Patrick for a free agency visit. Additionally, the Seahawks also hosted former Chicago Bears offensive lineman Teven Jenkins.

Both players could be possible solutions for the Saints’ biggest remaining need, a starting left guard. That’s where Patrick began with the Saints last year until injuries changed both his availability and usage. He also took snaps at center throughout the season.
If Patrick signs with the Seahawks, reuniting with Kubiak, it could open the door for New Orleans to move in on Jenkins. If not, it leaves him available as a possible fallback option should the team not be able to net a bigger name at left guard or decide that Patrick is the best option.
