With the NFL Draft now in full view less than a month away, college pro days are an opportunity for players to continue to showcase their abilities with onlooking NFL teams in attendance. Some are looking to build upon their scouting combine performances, others weren’t invited to the league’s annual showcase and now have this chance to prove themselves.

On Tuesday morning, Tulane football hosted its pro day at the New Orleans Saints facility and put on a show that featured a ton of speed, but one defensive lineman may have stolen the show.

Here are some of the standout performances and takeaways. All testing numbers should be considered unofficial and were shared with LouisianaSports.Net via a source with one of the teams in attendance.

DL Adin Huntington

Huntington put on a show with his 6-foot-1 and 281 pound frame. While his size will be scrutinized, he showed that he has some elite athleticism to make up for it. Several linemen in the NFL have found success at his size with these kinds of athletic traits.

DL Patrick Jenkins

Tulane head coach Jon Sumrall said that Jenkins may have really helped himself with his testing on Tuesday and it sure looks like that was the case. A few scouts made some notable comments about how much he stood out. At 6-foot-2 and 293 pounds, the New Orleans native did himself some favors.

DB Johnathan Edwards

The St. Louis native has a draftable frame with the skills to back it up. At 6-foot-1 and 200 pounds, Edwards put up some impressive numbers on Tuesday.

DB Caleb Ransaw

Jon Sumrall Praises DB Caleb Ransaw

After the workouts and drills wrapped up, Tulane’s Coach Sumrall met with the media and shared a great story about defensive back Caleb Ransaw, who is expected to be selected in this year’s NFL Draft. Ransaw only ran the short shuttle during Tuesday’s pro day, running an impressive 4.34 – 4.37 range. But beyond what he brings as an athlete on the field, Sumrall praised his performance off of it.

Sumrall shared a story in which Ransaw was ill years ago. When the coach visited him in the hospital, Ransaw was on his tablet in his hospital bed watching tape of other draftable defensive backs that year. He highlighted the defensive back’s preparation, motivated drive, and his “five position versatility” in the secondary. Ransaw has played outside corner, slot corner and took snaps at safety during this year’s Senior Bowl.

He’s stood out in all the ways that should have him on the Saints’ radar this offseason. He had an excellent Senior Bowl week, he has versatility in the secondary, NFL size and ranked with a whopping 9.96 RAS following his Combine performance, which was eye-popping.

QB T.J. Finley Still Has A Cannon

Tulane’s quarterback was in attendance throwing to receivers during their on-field drills. A great gesture for a new arrival in Uptown. Finley joins his fifth collegiate team after starting his tenure with the LSU Tigers back in 2020.

There is expected to be a battle for the starting signal caller position for the Green Wave and Finley’s deep passing game is going to make him tough to beat. He put that on display Tuesday along with his massive 6-foot-7, 240 pound build at the Airline Drive facility.

More Impressive Performances

Not every player took part in multiple drills, but several still found ways to stand out. Especially in the 40-yard-dash.
