UNLV guard Dedan Thomas commits to LSU

Hours after adding Michael Nwoko to its frontcourt, LSU nabbed a backcourt addition from the transfer portal.
On3’s Joe Tipton is reporting that former UNLV guard Dedan Thomas Jr. has picked the Tigers over Kentucky, Florida and Syracuse. On3 ranks Thomas as the No. 3 guard in the portal class and the eighth best player overall.

Thomas averaged 15.6 points and 4.7 assists for the Runnin’ Rebels this season. The 6-foot-1, 185 lbs., guard shot 35 percent from three-point range and scored double figures in 22 of UNLV’s 26 games.
He was a five-star recruit in the 2024 class and ranked the No. 22 player overall. He reclassified to 2023 and enrolled at UNLV. He led the Runnin’ Rebels in scoring as a freshman and was the Mountain West Co-Freshman of the Year.
Thomas has two seasons of eligibility left.
