USF DL Bernard Gooden commits to LSU

Brian Kelly said in early April that LSU was not actively searching for transfer portal additions.
Clearly the Tigers were at least searching passively.
On Saturday morning Hayes Fawcett of On3 has reported the Tigers have taken a commitment from former USF defensive lineman Bernard Gooden.

The 6-foot-1, 275 lbs Gooden visited Baton Rouge this week. He’s coming off a 2024 season where he made 35 tackles with 1.5 sacks and a pair of pass deflections.
Out of high school, Gooden was a consensus three-star prospect who enrolled at Wake Forest. After a redshirt year, he transferred to USF.
Gooden joins a defensive tackle position that features significant depth. Graduated Jacobian Guillory returns along with talented sophomores Dominic McKinley. Texas transfer Sydir Mitchell also enjoyed a strong spring after transferring.
