Nussmeier, Swinson Earn SEC honors
Garrett Nussmeier was named one of the Southeastern Conference Offensive Player of the Week for his performance against UCLA.
The junior quarterback completed 32-of-44 throws for 352 yards and three touchdowns to pace the LSU offense by the Bruins on Saturday in Tiger Stadium. Through four games, Nussmeier leads the country in completions and is second in touchdown passes with 13.
Missouri’s Nate Noel shared the honor with Nussmeier. The Mizzou back ran for 199 yards in the Tigers’ double-overtime win over Vanderbilt.
Bradyn Swinson garnered recognition for the second consecutive week. His two-sack effort resulted in his being named SEC Defensive Lineman of the week. Swinson forced a fumble that LSU’s offensive turned into a field goal that put LSU up 17-10 on UCLA.
The senior edge rusher has five sacks and six tackles for loss on the season.
