Alabama Will Not Name RT Starter

Several teams around the league released their depth charts and projected starters earlier today, and one of the more noticeable tidbits was in Tuscaloosa.

Alabama didn’t name a starter at right tackle. Instead, both Wilkin Formy and Elijah Pritchett will continue to battle for the spot as the season starts.

Pritchett is a former five-star recruit from Georgia who most expected to win the starting job dating back to Spring Practice. But Formby, a local product from Tuscaloosa, has received rave reviews from the staff and media alike throughout fall practice.

Alabama isn’t the only team in the league playing their cards close to the vest with the depth chart. However, stability and continuity on the offensive line is something they’re in desperate need of considering how bad last year’s unit performed. Alabama’s offensive line gave up a program record 49 sacks in 2023 including six straight games with four or more sacks allowed. That’s the most of any team in FBS in the last 20 years.
