Arkansas, Mizzou Enjoy Record Setting Openers

Arkansas and Missouri kicked off the 2024 season for the SEC Thursday night with a pair of dominant wins over FCS bottom feeders. The two teams won by a combined score of 121-0 over Arkansas-Pine Bluff and Murray State, and did so in record-setting style.

Arkansas 70, Arkansas-Pine Bluff 0
- 1st Shutout in 64 games (Tulsa 2018)
- 70 Points: Most points scored in last 121 games (2014 Nicholls St)
- 687 Total Yards: Most in 15+ years & 3rd most in program history
- Became the only FBS team in the last 20 years to score a TD on each of their first 10 possessions to start a season. And, they did so while playing 10-minute quarters in the second half.
Missouri 51, Murray State 0
- 27 Pass Yards Allowed: Fewest allowed in last 161 games (2011 Western Illinois)
- It’s the sixth time under Eli Drinkwitz that Mizzou allowed less than 100 yards passing, and it’s the 10th time they’ve done it since 2019
