Arkansas heads into their bye week on the heels of a huge win while hoping to avoid a huge loss. The Hogs beat Tennessee, 19-14, Saturday night for their first top-five win at home in 25 years. However, the win the came at bit of a cost, as starting quarterback Taylen Green had to leave the game with a knee injury.
Sam Pittman gave an update on the junior signal caller during Wednesday’s SEC coaches teleconference saying there was no structural damage to Green’s knee and that he would be “day-to-day” moving forward.
“We don’t think it’s an MCL, now,” Pittman said. “More of a bone bruise. And very, very sore on him. Hopefully he’ll be back by LSU. It’ll kind of be day-to-day right now.”
On the season, Green has accounted for over 1,800 total yards and nine total touchdowns while leading the Hogs to a 4-2 record. Freshman Malachi Singleton replaced Green against Tennessee after his injury, leading Arkansas to two scoring drives including the game winner with 1:17 left in the fourth quarter.
Arkansas will host LSU next Saturday at 6 p.m. in Fayetteville.
