Cam Jordan announces return for 15th season with Saints

03/12/2025

By Ross Jackson

NEW ORLEANS — Despite the questions that circulated through the offseason about his future, New Orleans Saints defensive end Cameron Jordan always seemed to be a part of the team’s plans for 2025.

That now looks to be solidified thanks to a post Wednesday from Jordan’s social media.

Jordan announced that he will indeed be back for season No. 15 of his future Hall of Fame-worthy career.

New Orleans was never shy that Jordan was a part of the plan with new head coach Kellen Moore remaining consistent this offseason about the value of the team’s veteran leadership.

The biggest question around Jordan now becomes his $12.5 million base salary. Jordan’s snap counts have been driven downward the last few years with his fewest defensive snaps coming in 2024. The eight-time Pro Bowler saw only 48% of snaps last year, with an uptick toward the end of the season which was met with a bump in production as well.

Jordan will remain a key part of the Saints’ future, and will ideally finish his career in New Orleans beyond. Now that that is solidified for 2025, the attention turns to the numbers on his contract to see if any adjustments, including the potential for a simple restructure, are made.

New Orleans has worked its way well under the salary cap for 2025 however, so any payment changes would be relevant only to his expected role next year or his team-friendly approach rather than out of necessity for cap compliance.
