Chester, Tigers Battling Stomach Bug

LSU starting center DJ Chester was absent from practice Saturday due to what Brian Kelly called “a bug” that was passed among the team.

“We’re fighting that right now with a number of guys,” Kelly told reporters after practice.

Junior tackle Emery Jones was also affected, but Kelly said “…you couldn’t keep him from practice.”

“I don’t know how Whit Weeks and West Weeks made it through practice.  They had a similar bug.”

Kelly said the offices have been “sprayed” as his team continues to get healthy.

Freshman Coen Echols took the first team reps Saturday with Chester absent.  Junior Garrett Dellinger also worked at center.

LSU opens the season Sept. 1 in Las Vegas against USC.
