The New Orleans Saints defensive coaching staff got a big addition on Monday afternoon after they hired Terry Joseph as the team’s new defensive passing game coordinator.
Joseph spent the last four years with the Texas Longhorns holding the same position in addition to being the club’s secondary coach. One of the players that he coached, cornerback Jahdae Barron, is now one of the top names at the position in this year’s upcoming draft.
Barron took to social media to share his thoughts on Joseph with a heartwarming message.
“He changed my life 💯,” Barron posted to the social platform X (formerly Twitter) on Monday afternoon.
The versatile defensive back totaled five interceptions and 11 passes defended in 2024. He also had a sack and fumble recoveries, along with 67 total tackles.
Barron clearly holds Joseph in high regard and taking the time to share his impact publicly speaks volumes. It’s a good sign for what New Orleans is adding to its staff, while also drawing a striking connection between the Saints and Barron in this year’s draft.
Should the Saints not re-sign cornerback Paulson Adebo, the possibility of the 5-foot-11 and 200 pound defensive back landing in New Orleans is certainly higher now than it was before.
