Daniels’s Rookie of the Year and MVP odds drop drastically
09/30/2024
Jayden Daniels is the toast of the NFL through a month of play. The No. 2 overall pick is shattering records and producing points for his 3-1 Washington Commanders. The Arizona Cardinals were Sunday’s victim, and Daniels’s effort in the game made him the betting favorite to win NFL Rookie of the Year. Below are the odds from BetOnline.ag dating back to April 26, one day before the NFL Draft.
4/26 | 6/4 | 9/3 | 9/11 | 9/18 | 9/25 | 9/30 |
9/1 | 6/1 | 11/2 (+550) | 4/1 | 11/4 (+275) | 3/2 (+150) | 5/6 (-120) |
The chance to find a sizeable return on Daniels appears to have come and gone on the Rookie of the Year front, but Most Valuable Player is another story. Here is the shift on those odds.
8/28 | 9/16 | 9/24 | 9/30 |
200/1 | 150/1 | 100/1 | 45/1 |
A $100 bet on Daniels to win MVP would return $4500 should he win. Of course, a rookie hasn’t been named NFL MVP since Jim Brown in 1957. The reigning Heisman winner has a long way to go before he’s earned the league’s top individual honor, but if his play continues, those odds will only drop lower.
