ESPN Ranks Top 100 Players in CFB for 2024

Last week ESPN rolled out several countdown lists to help countdown the days until the college football kickoff. One of their annual rankings that garnered a lot of attention was their Top 100 Players in College Football for the 2024 season. 

In an offseason that saw a TON of changes around the world of college football, one thing that didn’t change was the SEC leading the country in ranked teams and overall talent. Not only were 9 different ranked teams ranked in the Top 20 of preseason polls, but a total of 34 players were ranked in the Top 100 players nationally by ESPN. 

11 Total Teams had at least one player ranked and 10 had multiple players make the list as well. Here’s a look at the total number of players that were ranked per team.

UGA – 6

Alabama – 5

Texas – 5

Oklahoma – 3

LSU – 

Ole Miss – 3

Missouri – 2

Tennessee – 2

Kentucky – 2

Texas A&M – 2

Arkansas – 1 

The list was top heavy with blue bloods and contenders across the country as Alabama, Texas, Michigan and Miami all had 5 players ranked. UGA led the SEC as we listed above with 6. However, the team with the most overall players was Ohio State who had a whopping 8 players on the list. Tennessee’s James Pearce Jr took the top spot.
