Florida’s Eugene Wilson ruled out

When it rains it pours in Gainesville.

Billy Napier and his team got more bad news early Thursday morning as it was announced that the Gator’s leading wide receiver Eugene Wilson won’t play in Starkville this Saturday.

Wilson injured his knee against Samford and was a game time decision against Texas A&M last week. He was unable to go. Wilson has 13 catches for 191 yards in just two games for the Gators this year, but he becomes the second starting wide out to miss significant action so far along with Kahleil Jackson.

Entering the season, Wilson was expected to be a game-changing weapon for the Gators in the absence of Trevor Etienne and Rickie Pearsall who moved on to Georgia and the NFL, respectively.

A sophomore from Tampa, he was second on the team a year ago in receptions and yards but led Florida in receiving touchdowns with six.
