Former LSU WR Marshall cut by Panthers

08/27/2024

Terrace Marshall, Jr. is looking for a new team.

The former LSU wide receiver was released by Carolina on Tuesday before the 4 p.m. ET deadline for teams to trim their rosters to 53 players.  Marshall was selected by the Panthers 59th overall in the 2021 draft, but has failed to live up to expectations.

Over his three seasons in Carolina, Marshall made just 16 starts, catching 64 passes for 767 yards and one touchdown.  He scored 13 touchdowns as a sophomore at LSU as part of a three-headed monster at receiver which included Ja’Marr Chase and Justin Jefferson.  Marshall played in just seven games during the 2020 season before opting out and declaring for the draft.

Perhaps Marshall can find stability in a different opportunity.  Entering his fourth NFL season, Marshall has seen five different head coaches, including Dave Canales who is entering his first season with the club.

Carolina opens the 2024 season in New Orleans against the Saints.
