Hilton probable to make season debut against UCLA

Brian Kelly doesn’t have to give an injury report until Saturday. He did anyway.

“Chris Hilton is probable,” the head coach started. “Jalen Lee is out with a shoulder. West Weeks is questionable. He’ll be a gameday decision. Those are really the three guys.”

Hilton missed the last two weeks of fall camp with a bone bruise. He’s been eased into practice week after week but has been unable to comfortably cut using that bruised foot. The Zachary High product adds an element of speed to the Tiger offense that has leaned heavily on the passing game through three weeks.

Lee’s loss shortens LSU’s defensive tackle rotation once again. That group has now lost three contributors in the early going. Freshman Dominic McKinley is dealing with a linger turf toe issue. LSU hopes to have him back in the coming weeks. Senior Jacobian Guillory will mis the rest of the season with an Achilles rupture.

That leaves Gio Paez, defensive end transpant Paris Shand, freshman Ahmad Breaux, JUCO transfer Shone Washington and transfer Jay’viar Suggs to take the reps against a veteran UCLA offensive line.

Kickoff in Tiger Stadium is set for 2:45pm on ABC.
