Huepel ready for Norman return

One of the most anticipated matchups of the college football season will take place in Norman this weekend as Tennessee visits Oklahoma.

Tennessee head coach Josh Heupel returns home to a place where he led the Sooners to a national championship as a player. He later became the Sooners’ offensive coordinator but was fired by his alma mater.

“Proud of a lot of what we did or I was a part of while I was there, but I wouldn’t change anything,” Huepel said. “I’m fortunate and blessed to be (at Tennessee) and absolutely love it on Rocky Top and have had an opportunity to meet so many great people along the way that have impacted me. Oklahoma impacted me that way, too….it was a great journey, and I wouldn’t be here without everything that happened at Oklahoma.”

Heupel and the Volunteers play Oklahoma this Saturday at 6:30 central on ABC.
