INDIANAPOLIS – Four-time All-Pro offensive lineman Jahri Evans spent 12 years with the New Orleans Saints as a player. Now he’s back for a third season as an assistant coach for the team.

After his playing career, he returned to the Saints in 2022 as a training camp coaching intern before becoming an offensive assistant in 2023.

Per Athlon’s John Hendrix, the Saints will be bringing Evans back for the 2025 season.

It always seemed likely that this would be the case. Evans has been credited by several offensive lineman, particularly those on the interior, for his quality of work with him. Starting right guard Cesar Ruiz has credited the Saints Hall of Famer on numerous occasions.

Evans will now work alongside offensive line coach Brendan Nugent. The two have worked together in New Orleans before, as Nugent served as the coaching assistant and offensive assistant during Evans’ final season with the Saints.

With a head coaching change, staff personnel often see some major changes. That was certainly the case with the hiring of new head coach Kellen Moore, who has already replaced several staff members after much of the former staff departed in the weeks leading up to his hiring. Despite the many departures, Evans remained. Now, he’ll do so for at least another season as he continues to build his coaching resume where his NFL journey began.
