Jaxson Dart’s Saints odds surge

Just hours before the first round of the NFL Draft, odds connecting Jaxson Dart to the New Orleans Saints surged.
Georgia edge rusher Mykel Williams is still the betting favorite to land in New Orleans at +230 according to DraftKings. Dart is now a close second at +500.
The Saints have done extensive research on this quarterback draft class with new head coach Kellen Moore likely wanting to select his own signal caller. Derek Carr’s shoulder injury–which was confirmed Wednesday by general manager Mickey Loomis–has added further uncertainty to the Saints quarterback room.
Earlier this week, Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders was favored to end up with the Saints. He now has the tenth-best odds at +1600.
Adam Schefter reported Monday that New Orleans is likely to select a lineman at No. 9 but is looking to trade up from No. 40 overall to select a quarterback.
The Saints also reportedly made calls Thursday about moving back in Round 1–something they have not done in nearly 20 years.
