Kelly confirms Beth Rex, LSU football’s chief of staff, has resigned

LSU football’s chief of staff has resigned.

Beth Rex, who has worked alongside head coach Brian Kelly for two decades dating back to his time as the head coach at Cincinnati, left the football program in early October. Throughout Kelly’s 12 years at Notre Dame, Rex held the same position. She has been his point person in all matters regarding the program from media relations to staff assembly to his Kelly Cares Foundation.

Asked about Rex’s departure, Kelly implied some staff shakeup will likely occur after the conclusion of the season, but that minimal impact will be felt in the final month.

“We’ve shifted some responsibilities internally,” Kelly said on Wednesday’s SEC coaches teleconference. “We’ll look to augment the staff after the season. But very little I think changed relative to the day to day. We’ve asked some of the support staff to pick up some more responsibility during the season.”
