The 6-foot-8, 220 pound freshman from New Orleans was a bright spot early in a rough season for the Tigers. After redshirting in 2023-24, Chest played in 26 games with 19 starts this season. When Jalen Reed was lost for the season due to injury, Chest became a starter, averaging six points and six rebounds per game.
He would eventually be replaced in the starting lineup when Matt McMahon employed a four guard lineup. Chest missed the final four games of the season with a foot injury.
LSU finished the season 14-18 overall and 3-15 in the SEC.
