Mullen named new UNLV coach

Dan Mullen is back in the coaching world
The former Mississippi State and Florida head coach has been named the new head coach at UNLV. The Running Rebels announced the hire after former coach Barry Odom took the Purdue job shortly after the Mountain West Conference Championship game.
Mullen spent 13 years as the head coach at Mississippi State and Florida where he compiled a 103-61 career record. In his four years at Florida, Mullen won 10 or more games in each of this first two seasons and went to three straight New Year’s Six Bowls.
At Mississippi State, Mullen led the Bulldogs to eight winning seasons in nine years. He won nine or more games three times, a feat that only happened five times in Starkville in the previous 104 combined seasons.
UNLV is coming off back-to-back bowl appearances in consecutive seasons for the first time in program history.
