Nike releases Kim Mulkey designed sneakers

Kim Mulkey is as well known for her game day outfits as she is for her championship pedigree and fiery demeanor on the floor.
It was only natural that Nike would collaborate with the LSU women’s basketball coach on a sneaker design. Hours before the bracket reveal on Selection Sunday, the Nike Dunk Low Unlocked by Kim Mulkey dropped.

The shoes retail for $160 and are available in both men’s and women’s sizes.
A four-time national champion at Baylor and LSU, Mulkey has used her style as a magnet for her program. LSU even has an annual promotion “Dress Like Kim Mulkey Day” where fans try to match her style at a home game.

This isn’t the first custom sneaker for Mulkey. After LSU won the national title in 2023, local artist Michael Anderson was commissioned to create a custom sneaker for Mulkey using pieces of a game ball from LSU’s win over Iowa in the national championship game.

Mulkey said on “After Further Review” with Matt Moscona she would never wear those sneakers, but keep them as a trophy to commemorate her most recent title and the first for the LSU program.

Odds are the new Kim Mulkey Dunks will be staples around the PMAC.
