No. 1 DT Stewart reclassifies for 2025
10/05/2024
A long-expected move is now official. Jahkeem Stewart, the No. 1 overall prospect for the 2026 recruiting cycle is reclassifying to the 2025 class.
Last month, Stewart left St. Augustine in New Orleans and enrolled at Edna Karr. Reportedly, St. Augustine would not allow Stewart to reclassify and graduate early. He is currently ineligible to play his junior season at Karr.
Stewart is a 6-foot-5, 270 pound defensive tackle with more than two dozen offers. In-state LSU has long been thought the favorite to land Stewart, but Texas, USC, Alabama, Ohio State, Georgia and Oregon are also in the mix.
Since reclassifying, On3 ranks Stewart as a five-star and the No. 19 overall player in the 2025 class. He’s the No. 3 defensive lineman and the top player in Louisiana.
LSU associate head coach Frank Wilson and defnsive line coach Bo Davis are leading the charge to keep Stewart in Louisiana. Wilson is a St. Augusting alum and former New Orleans area high school coach. The Tigers 2025 class is ranked third nationally and is lead by No. 1 over player Bryce Underwood, five-star cornerback DJ Pickett and five-star running back Harlem Berry. The Tigers have four defensive tackles committed for 2025.
