Oklahoma making quarterback switch at Auburn
09/23/2024
Oklahoma QB Jackson Arnold is being benched by head coach Brent Venables following yet another poor performance Saturday night against Tennessee.
Arnold has struggled for most of the young season, and the Sooner offense has followed suit. He has completed less than 60 percent of his passes and had the lowest yards per attempt (5.3) and passer rating (120.88) in the SEC.
Arnold was a former five star recruit out of Denton, TX., who was the No. 10 overall ranked recruit in the entire country.
He will be replaced by true freshman Michael Hawkins who stepped in for Arnold late in the first half against the Vols. Hawkins finished the game 11-of-18 with 154 total yards and led the Sooners only two touchdown drives.
