Texas Quarterback Quinn Ewers isn’t quite ready to go.

For the second straight game, redshirt freshman Arch Manning will start for the Longhorns, reports ESPN’s Pete Thamel.

Ewers was injured in Week 3 against UTSA and was replaced by Manning. When Ewers was unable to play last Saturday against UL Monroe, Manning made his first career start. The former five-star redshirt freshman from New Orleans has accounted for seven touchdowns in the last two games in relief of Ewers.

Saturday will be the Longhorns’ first ever SEC contest. They will face a struggling Mississippi State team under first-year coach Jeff Lebby. The Bulldogs are 1-3 with lopsided home losses to Toledo and Florida. The task won’t get any easier against the Texas defense which leads the nation in scoring defense having allowed on two touchdowns through four games.

The Longhorns and Bulldogs kick off at 3:15 p.m. on the SEC Network.
