The New Orleans Pelicans are waiving forward Matt Ryan, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic.
The move opens a roster spot for guard Javonte Green, who the Pelicans signed Thursday while keeping one roster spot available.
The Pelicans were Ryan’s fourth team in three NBA seasons, but where he found his most success. In 28 games with the team, he averaged 5.4 points per game and 13.9 minutes per game.
Ryan spent his rookie season with Boston in 2021-22 before playing for both the Lakers and Timberwolves the following season.
The Pelicans open training camp at Belmont University in Nashville, Tenn.on Oct. 1.
