Report: Saints head coaching interviews continue into the weekend
By Ross Jackson
After holding three virtual interviews ahead of the wild-card round, the New Orleans Saints are set to continue the search for their next head coach this week. The Saints have at least four interviews expected that will take them into the weekend.
As previously and widely reported, the team will interview interim head coach Darren Rizzi officially for the full-time position this week. Rizzi has also interviewed with the New York Jets. The Saints have been very complementary of the interim coach, who took over after the week nine dismissal of former coach Dennis Allen, despite challenging circumstances.
The date of Rizzi’s interview has not yet been confirmed, but per Sport Illustrated’s Albert Breer, the Saints will be conducting conversations into the weekend.
Breer reported Monday afternoon that New Orleans is expected to interview three offensive coordinators on Friday and Saturday. The list includes Joe Brady of the Buffalo Bills, Philadelphia Eagles play caller Kellen Moore, and Kliff Kingsbury of the Washington Commanders. All of these interviews would be virtual, per NFL rules.
The Saints’ next set of scheduled interviews comes this Friday and Saturday, when they’ll sit down with Commanders OC Kliff Kingsbury, Eagles OC Kellen Moore and Bills OC Joe Brady, per sources.
Of course, they could bring now-ex-Cowboys coach Mike McCarthy in before then, too.

A busy week awaits general manager Mickey Loomis and his team—a week that could become even busier with the recent departure of head coach Mike McCarthy from the Dallas Cowboys. In addition to the four interviews New Orleans is expected to conduct soon, McCarthy is expected to eventually be added to the list.
