Report: Saints hosted potential first-round safety Nick Emmanwori for pre-draft visit

By Ross Jackson
NEW ORLEANS, La. — One thing the New Orleans Saints visibly love in a draft pick is athleticism. So it makes a lot of sense that one of the most impressive athletes of the 2025 NFL Draft class spent time with the team on a pre-draft visit.
Per Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.Football, the Saints hosted South Carolina safety Nick Emmanwori for what would be a top-30 visit.
Emmanwori was electrifying at this year’s NFL Scouting Combine, putting together one of the best testing days in recent history.
Combine Results (Percentile)
- Height: 6-foot-3 (97th)
- Weight: 220 pounds (96)
- 40-yard-dash: 4.39 (91st)
- Vertical: 43 inches (98th)
- Broad jump: 11-foot-6 (99th)
Emmanwori was awarded a perfect 10 of 10 on RAS, which measures a players size, strength, athletic metrics, explosive metrics and agility metrics relative to the historic results at their position.
Fit With the Saints
New Orleans signed safety Justin Reid this offseason to a three-year deal but could look to add to the position in the draft in preparation for the eventual opening of Tyrann Mathieu’s role in the future. Emmanwori can do it all but is particularly effective playing in the box and showing off his physical nature. He is no liability, as he had four interceptions in coverage last year.
In new defensive coordinator Brandon Staley’s scheme, Emmanwori could be a perfect fit because of his versatility. He has the skill set to attack and find success from multiple areas of a defense.
Nick Emmanwori isn’t just a standout – his versatility sets him apart on the field. 😤
