NEW ORLEANS — Another familiar face is returning to the New Orleans Saints. Per John Hendrix of Saints On SI, New Orleans is bringing running back Jacob Kibodi back to their practice squad.
The signing is quick on the heels of second-year running back Kendre Miller leaving Sunday’s loss with a hamstring injury. Miller missed all of training camp and the first six games of the season due to a hamstring injury suffered as camp began.
Now, the team is bringing another rusher in soon after Miller suffered the injury again, but this time to his opposite leg, per head coach Dennis Allen. That is unlikely to be a great sign.
The Saints’ injury concerns have far from disappeared even after getting several pieces back last week.
Kibodi initially joined the Saints, his childhood favorite NFL team, as an undrafted free agent rookie. He had an impressive two- touchdown preseason game and then landed on the practice squad to start the season. All a series of dreams coming true for the Baton Rouge native who played collegiately at UL-Lafayette.
Now, he gets a chance to return and potentially contribute, depending on how things are going with Miller and his latest injury. The team also parted ways with fellow running back Jordan Mims. It will be interesting if a reunion may be in store there as well.
