With Super Bowl LIX right around the corner, the Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs will go head-to-head to settle this year’s championship team. In the process, New Orleans Saints fans will get one more look at their presumed soon-to-be head coach in Eagles offensive coordinator Kellen Moore.

Moore is expected to become the Saints’ next head coach in the days following the big game. There is a chance that by then, he could be a Super Bowl-winning coordinator. That’s quite an achievement to add to one’s resume on their way to becoming a first-time head coach.

Saints fans will be watching closely and are likely to be rooting for Moore in the process. What to watch for throughout the championship bout comes down to the offense, when it comes to the young coach.

Moore made a point throughout the week in New Orleans to highlight his desire to elevate talent by lending his scheme to what his personnel does best. When LouisianaSports.Net asked him about playing to the strengths of players —specifically tight ends in the conversation—Moore said, “Everyone’s got superpowers.”

With a core of playmakers like quarterback Jalen Hurts and running back Saquon Barkley, and pass catchers like A.J. Brown, Devonta Smith, and Dallas Goedert, those superpowers are easy to both identify and build around.

New Orleans will need to build that type of offensive attack with Moore at the helm. However, running back Alvin Kamara and wide receivers Chris Olave and Rashid Shaheed provide a strong foundation. Versatile tight end Taysom Hill is also a key piece, though questions about his future remain following a serious knee injury against the Los Angeles Rams last season.

Nonetheless, watching Moore on the NFL’s biggest stage will provide some insight as to how he handles big moments, top-level competition, and his own roster’s talents and challenges.

Often, Saints coaches have spoken about staying true to what it is that their system is prepared to do, regardless of what the matchup may look like across from them. Such a steadfast approach is admirable in some cases, but in the NFL the ability to adjust is requisite for winning games.

Moore described his approach as one that is likely to adjust often.

“Each and every week’s a completely different world,” Moore said. “The game plans, you have to approach it differently. There’s certain things that you’re going to be convicted on that are kind of going to be your ‘hang your hat on’ type plays that if you’re in a rut we can always call this and get things going. But from there, it’s important that you have to be able to play adjustment football week in and week out.”

One could expect that this applies on a down in, down out and drive in, drive out perspective, as well. Fans should be watching this closely to see how Moore responds to and adjusts when he faces adversity against a highly-ranked Chiefs defense.

Moore is set to take the biggest stage of his career before reportedly stepping into his most significant role in the league. He will reach a career high before his expected introduction as the Saints’ next head coach, with fans closely watching, hoping for an impressive performance to carry him back to New Orleans in the coming weeks.
