Saints interview Dolphins WR coach Robert Prince for Offensive Coordinator role

NEW ORLEANS, La. — The New Orleans Saints and new head coach Kellen Moore were hard at work looking for their next offensive and defensive coordinators on Saturday.
On the same day in which former LSU defensive coordinator Daronte Jones reportedly interviewed for the open defensive coordinator position, the Saints were also set to interview a former coaching staff colleague of Moore’s for the offensive coordinator role.
Per NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, the Saints and Moore are interviewing Miami Dolphins wide receivers coach Robert Prince for the offensive coordinator job.
Prince is a well-respected coach that began his coaching career in the collegiate ranks as a graduate assistant at his alma mater Humboldt University in 1989. He has an impressive 39 years of coaching experience.
Since then, Prince has coached wide receivers at both the professional and collegiate levels, including one season (2011) as Boise State’s wide receivers coach while Moore was the team’s quarterback. Prince then became the Boise State offensive coordinator as Moore entered the NFL in 2012.
The two briefly overlapped again in 2014 as a quarterback and wide receivers coach duo with the Detroit Lions.
Born in Okinawa, Japan, Prince coached career years for NFL wideouts like Reggie Williams with the Jacksonville Jaguars and Detroit Lions receiver Kenny Golladay. He also spent numerous years coaching top-flight wideouts like Golden Tate and Calvin Johnson, also with the Lions.
He and Moore teamed once more in 2022 when Moore, then the Dallas Cowboys’ offensive coordinator, hired Prince as the wide receivers coach.
Prince spent 2022 through 2024 with the Cowboys before becoming the Miami Dolphins wide receivers coach less than a month ago. He and Moore have a long and winding history together, making him a true candidate to watch as the Saints search for their next offensive coordinator.
