Saints show strong interest in LSU TE Mason Taylor

By Ross Jackson
There has been an influx of Louisiana talent joining the New Orleans Saints roster offer the last few years. The numbers have reached a fever pitch this offseason, with no end in sight. It’s a welcome shift for fans and a good investment by the team considering the amount of football talent that hails from Louisiana.
The latest surge comes from the team’s local pro day, naturally, which featured several top player prospects from surrounding schools.
Per Ryan Fowler of The Draft Network, the Saints were hosting LSU tight end Mason Taylor for a visit, which was likely in reference to his attendance at the team’s local pro day, at which Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.Football confirmed Taylor’s presence.
If Taylor’s visit was separate from the local pro day, it would show additional interest from New Orleans, who have already connected with the tight end on multiple occasions including the Senior Bowl, NFL Combine and his LSU pro day.
In addition to Taylor, LSU edge rusher Sai’vion Jones and Tulane safety Caleb Ransaw also attended. Though he may not have participated in any workouts, LSU offensive lineman Emery Jones Jr. was also in for a visit.

Jones was seen at LSU’s pro day with a sling on his left arm, which was not present during his media availability at the NFL Scouting Combine. Perhaps he had a minor procedure.
Like Taylor, Jones was also seen speaking with Saints personnel at LSU’s pro day.
New Orleans hasn’t drafted an LSU product since selecting Will Clapp Jr. in the seventh round of the 2018 draft class. The Saints were on a roll of drafting from the school once about every eight or nine years.
A source with knowledge of the situation tells LouisianaSports.Net that Tulane defensive tackle Adin Huntington was also present at the Saints’ local day.

His impressive Tulane pro day is drawing him a lot of interest. Has WAS pro day and KC Top-30 visit as well. Athletic pass rusher with clean character.

Huntington stood out during his Tulane pro day after an outstanding performance. At 6-foot-1 and 281 pounds, many of Huntington’s testing numbers would have topped his position at this year’s NFL Scouting Combine.
Adin Huntington Reported Tulane Pro Day Results:
- 40-yard-dash: 4.64/4.65
- Bench: 30 reps
- Vertical: 38 inches
- Broad jump: 10-foot-6
