SEC Players of the Week: Week 2

The Southeastern Conference announced Week 2 Player of the Week honors on Monday.
As expected, it was heavy on selections from Texas, Tennessee and South Carolina. The Longhorns mauled defending national champion Michigan in Ann Arbor. The Volunteers rolled over North Carolina State in Charlotte, and South Carolina crushed Kentucky in Lexington.
Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers earned Offensive Player of the Week honors. He three for 246 yards and three touchdowns.
Nico Iamaleava also threw for a pair of scores for Tennessee. He added a third on the ground en route to SEC Freshman of the Week.
For the Gamecocks, Nick Emmanwori won Defensive Player of the week for his seven-tackle effort that included a late pick-six to put Kentucky away.
