Happy Friday! We are less than 24 hours away from kickoff of Week 11 games in the SEC, and there has been some significant line movement from Vegas on the Saturday slate. The last two weekends saw at least some movement in every single SEC game. However, this week only four of the six games see line movement. Both marquee matchups saw no movement in their betting lines at all.

What does Vegas know? Because they always know.

Let’s start with what games saw some sort of movement. Tennessee stayed around a 24-point favorite against Mississippi State, and Texas has maintained being a three touchdown favorite over Florida with a little fluctuation. The line may move more later tonight or Saturday before the game depending on the injury update status of Florida quarterback DJ Lagway.

The two lines that saw the most movement were South Carolina-Vanderbilt and Oklahoma-Missouri. South Carolina opened as a 3.5-point favorite and as of Friday afternoon has moved all the way up to 6.5. That’s been a consistent theme in favor of South Carolina as we’ve gotten closer to kickoff for each of their last three games. However, this weekend their opponent is Vanderbilt who is 6-0 against the spread this season with five outright wins. Whether it’s sharp or public money favoring the Gamecocks, it’s clear once again that Vegas does not believe in the Commodores.

The other game that’s interesting is Missouri-Oklahoma. The Tigers opened as a 2.5-point favorite. However, the line has moved all the way across to favoring Oklahoma by two points currently. The Sooners have played better the last few games, but the bar is really low for what that means. This shift is almost entirely due to the fact that Missouri starting quarterback Brady Cook is not expected to play.

Now onto the biggest surprises of the week. The two biggest games in the SEC and the country are locked at the same point spread they opened at early Sunday afternoon. It seems to be a bit of a metaphorical tug of war between public betting and sharp action for each.

Almost 90 percent of the public money is on Georgia in their game against Ole Miss. Similarly, almost 75 percent of the public betting money for LSU-Alabama is on Alabama. However, according to Action Network, both games have seen top experts and sharp money favor the underdogs. Usually, big games like that generate substantially large bets from gamblers in the last 24 hours before kickoff. It will be interesting to monitor as it gets closer to kickoff Saturday afternoon.
