Tennessee adds coaching veteran as analyst for 2025 staff

Josh Heupel and Tennessee added a veteran assistant for their 2025 staff. Former NFL coach Alan Williams will join the Vols program as a defensive analyst.
Williams was the defensive coordinator with the Chicago Bears from 2022 to 2023. He served as an assistant coach in the NFL for more than 20 years starting in 2001. Williams also has 18 years experience as a defensive backs coach, filling that role for the Colts and Lions.
This is the third analyst hire and the second longtime NFL assistant Josh Heupel has added this offseason. Heupel also hired John Bonamego as a special teams assistant after being a special teams coordinator in the NFL for 23 years.
Tennessee begins their spring practice on Friday March 7th.
