Tennesssee Makes White Highest Paid SEC AD

Fresh off a national championship in Omaha and a lot of preseason CFB Playoff hype, the Tennessee Vols announced earlier this week that Athletic Director Danny White would receive a new contract. The Vols have seen a surge in success and national relevance in a host of sports since White was hired in early 2021.
Tennessee won the SEC All-Sports Trophy in 2022 and 2023. They followed that up in 2024 with all 20 athletic teams making the postseason and 11 Top 10 finishes nationally. They also became the first team ever to win an SEC regular season title in men’s basketball, softball and baseball in the same year.
White’s contract extension will run through 2030 and will increase his annual salary by over half a million dollars up to $2.75 million annually.
