Twitter Reaction: Miami Mauls Florida
08/31/2024
Miami invaded The Swamp on Saturday and took no prisoners. The game’s final score, 41-17, may not have adequately represented just how dominant the Hurricanes were.
The yardstick favored Miami 529-261, and the lead was 38-10 early in the fourth quarter.
Billy Napier is in a crucial third year of his time in Gainesville, and he desperately needed a good start against a tough Miami team. He got the opposite.
There will be time for buyout talk and coaching hot boards. For now, let’s just look at the Twitter reactions. Former Gators coach Dan Mullen got in on the act by retweeting his ESPN partner Matt Barrie’s reaction.
The Florida coach that got fired went to three consecutive new years six games in his first three years. And was let go in his 4th season.

I think we backed down today, y’all. We got stood up at the Gates of Hell, and pushed right in instead.

I’m not even joking …
… 2-10 is very much on the table for Florida.
You can even make a case that 1-11 is on the table. pic.twitter.com/1REbTmYLxv

The bad news for Florida- Billy Napier’s buyout is $26 million.
The worse news – Even if you have the money, Scott Stricklin, who has hired the last two football coaches, would in theory be hiring the next one as well.
Not. Ideal.
