Tyrell Ward enters transfer portal

Tyrell Ward announced moments before LSU’s season opener in November that he was stepping away from the team. Monday he announced he is entering the transfer portal.

Ward signed with LSU as a four-star prospect from Washington, D.C. Over two seasons with the program, Ward played in 54 games with 18 starts. As a sophomore in 2023-24, the 6-foot-6 wing averaged 9.1 points per game and shot a team-best 41 percent from three point range.
Forward Corey Chest and guard Mike Williams III have also announced their plans to enter the portal.
