Walter Mathis Jr. Commits to LSU

On the eve of the team’s home opener, LSU added another member to its star-studded recruiting class.

Walter Mathis Jr., a 6-foot-1, 285 lbs., defensive lineman from Calvary Baptist Day School in Savannah, GA., announced his commitment via social media.

On3, 247Sports and ESPN rate Mathis a three-star prospect. He chose the Tigers over offers from Miami and Clemson among others.

Mathis becomes the 26^th member of LSU’s class and fourth interior defensive lineman for position coach Bo Davis.
