WATCH: Derek Carr Hits Shaheed for 59-Yard Touchdown

Well that didn’t take very long! The New Orleans Saints unveiled their new-look offense with gusto to start their 2024 season. They capped off an impressive 5-play, 76-yard drive with a 59-yard strike from quarterback Derek Carr to speedy deep threat Rashid Shaheed.

The Saints loaded the first possession with a ton of motion and play action. They worked their way quickly into shot distance thanks to their run game. On a third and short, Carr decided to air it out and play aggressive. It all went as planned as Shaheed caught the pass and stumbled into the endzone. Expect to see that a few more times this season.

The Saints struggled to put together opening drive touchdowns in each of the last few seasons. That was not an issue for them Sunday.
