Zy Alexander will play in Texas Bowl

BATON ROUGE, La. — Zy Alexander will wear the purple and gold one final time.
LSU announced via social media that the senior cornerback will play in the Kinder’s Texas Bowl against Baylor.

Alexander returned in 2024 from a torn ACL suffered in November of last season. He played in ten games with nine starts for the Tigers this year, leading the team with two interceptions and was Pro Football Focus’s highest-graded defensive player at 83.9. His 85.1 coverage grade was also tops, with safety Sage Ryan a distant second at 73.2.
Alexander spent three seasons at FCS Southeastern Louisiana before transferring to LSU prior to the 2023 season. He’s played in 49 career games with 45 starts.
LSU will meet Baylor in the Texas Bowl on New Year’s Eve at 2:30 p.m.
